They're going to start buying the toilet paper companies next. Everbody needs Interwebz and to take dumps.
 
Surely the ISP will always be at least on hop closer to the user than google & thus have better latency?
 
Is this any different to OpenDNS and will it too become inaccessible when we're limited to local only access?

Its exactly the same idea. The latency to the Google servers is around 400ms from ZA. Not exactly an improvement over our local resolvers which respond in under 100ms.
