Hi,

I’m a total noob when it comes to useing google analytics. Previously used jet pack on my site, but I need to run googke site kit for some other integrations, so seemed pointless to also pay for Jetpack (I can’t use the free version, it’s a commercial site).

How do I see the actual source of traffic on the user acquisition reports in Google Analytics. I can see the report that tells me if it’s direct search/refferal/paid advertising etc, but I want to know the actual source of the referral traffic. On Jetpack that was one of the basic bits of data shown on the main dashboard, but on Google Analytics nor search console, I can’t find it….any help will be gladly appreciated.

Skip to the GA4 part of the article.
Thanks. One has to wonder though, why on earth they hide such an important metric, so far down the drill down options….

I knew it had to be there, I just couldn’t find it. Thanks again for the link to this article.

GA 4 is pretty bad, I absolutely hate it compared to the old GA, which was much more user friendly and had the important stats available in a click or 2.
