Google announces new branding for more powerful Chromebooks

Google has announced Chromebook Plus, branding that will be used to label ChromeOS-powered laptops with more capable hardware than entry-level systems.

Chromebooks are primarily aimed at students or workers who require cost-effective web-centric machines that only need to run the most popular productivity apps.

Nobody in South Africa seems to be selling that spec

How is the market for Chromebooks in SA to begin with?

No idea, not sold on the idea of Cloud Computing. Tho having a Google Drive, is handy for odd stuff, that you want to access from different computers, provided, most locations you might work at have internet access and are prepared to share it with you

Same, hence for the Q lol

I can see some (limited) uptake in SA but mass penetration? Heck no!

If you a business, and run everything off of a server, they make sense. But have yet to see a business use them that way, regardless of it making sense to use them. They just buy normal computers - often wondered why.
