Google has announced sweeping changes to Google Maps, which is recognised as the most popular maps and navigation app in the world, with a claimed over 2 billion active users.

"Google Maps is fundamentally changing what a map can do," says the app's VP and GM, Miriam Daniel.

that dramatically reduces it usefulness. good luck finding a doctor or dentist that is not part of the major hospital groups in the future.

I've noticed in my town you have to zoom in a lot before some places appear. And even then sometimes they don't appear anymore unless you use a specific keyword. Google said it is because the map was too crowded. So if you new to an area and you scan the map you miss most of the places unless you search for something very specific

It's quite frustrating when I was looking for a place not too long ago and then realised most of the places don't show anymore. Crazy. Google wants to own the world.
