Google Authenticator

Loosing access to my Google account is my worst nightmare. Got plenty of backup codes though.

How was it resolved?

I flashed my s4 with kitkat recently and had to reinstall Google authenticator. You have to log onto the web version and scan a barcode to re-add it to authenticator. I only use it for Google and Microsoft accounts and it wasn't difficult to re-add them.

oh ya. Generate and keep a list of your temp codes. I use Evernote for that.

I contacted the website and they asked me to give them all kinda info, sms some code, and some more answers, then they disabled the 2 factor on my account so that i can log in but asked me to re-enable it again. After that i made a backup with Titanuim

I hope that will be ok for if there is a next time, i could not find any backup codes for that website.

So please if you use it for some website other than google, make a backup

If they have no backup codes you should complain.

I went and regenerated all my backup codes this morning and 3 of the 6 sites I use have sms as the backup.
