Google bans Adblocker apps from Play Store

Meh. The folks tech savvy enough to root their phones - a requirement for many (all?) of these apps - will be tech savvy enough to find them elsewhere. Google's approach isn't surprising, but it won't affect me.

I see adblock is removed from the Play store, but not the Chrome store. Perhaps this is hurting their developers ability to produce free apps in the hope of getting advertising revenue? Perhaps the developers are complaining? Cause they dont mind adblock on PC`s.

Where do you see ads except in free apps? On mobile sites everything is stripped to the minimum.

Yep, just get the apk, install. Google are only tricking the amateurs.

Ads don't bother me in apps. Web browsers on PC is another story.

There's some apps that places ads in your notification bar and alerts you every now and again. And, of course, only the "free" version is available in the market at all. Those needs to die in fire. Ads on the app itself is fine.

Between The Apple Autocracy and the Android Adventure, I come down on the adventure side every time a coconut. But, as relates to the specific topic, they can banish these from the ...THEIR Storebut they can't stop me from adventuring forth. To, say, APKTOP on which I find my much beloved AdFree, right there for easy retrieval. APK fetched and nestled in the relevant dropbox folder for future installs.

Well, someone must pay for your free Gmail account (which don't have ads anymore, btw), Google Maps, Google Navigation, Google Goggles, Google, Currents, YouTube, etc.

All the goodies you get for free every day....you do know that someone must pick up the bill for all the servers, bandwidth, hosting, etc. Yes?

*If you don't ask Oom rpm why there are ads on MyBB. ;)

I think they're being greedy if you consider the amount of data mining they do.

YouTube consumes 90% of the internet's total bandwidth....can you imagine what it must cost Google to keep it running?
