Google bans Adblocker apps from Play Store

Ok, I want to rant a bit....you say "citation needed", but did you actually type into your address bar "youtube consumes 90% of the internet's bandwidth"? Are you just superlazy, or wanted to mouth off?

I don't think you did, cos otherwise you would have found this article, and lots more.

And on the subject of banner advertising in general. If only there was some sort of standards authority for them, it would go a long way in repairing the dubious image they have.

Nope, you're just super illiterate. The article you linked to is a PROJECTION, that 90% of internet traffic will be VIDEO by 2013.

Like Youtube is the only video site on all of the internets? Think for a bit. Personal attacks don't work on me, I'm not 5. If I ask for some evidence, I mean it. It doesn't seem likely that Youtube would consume anywhere near 90% of internet traffic. I'm not saying it's impossible, it's just a pretty bold claim so I'd need some actual stats to back it up.

It's never a good argument when you use a phrase to Google as reference and this thread comes up first.

There's just so much wrong with the conclusions you draw from that research topic I don't even know where to start.....
I think you need to go sit in the corner for 30 mins

Well, someone must pay for your free Gmail account (which don't have ads anymore, btw), Google Maps, Google Navigation, Google Goggles, Google, Currents, YouTube, etc.

All the goodies you get for free every day....you do know that someone must pick up the bill for all the servers, bandwidth, hosting, etc. Yes?

*If you don't ask Oom rpm why there are ads on MyBB. ;)

Well then Google should offer a premium ad free service for a small annual fee. I'd gladly pay.

I didn't draw any conclusions from the research topic.

See, there you draw the wrong conclusion.

You can come out of the corner when I say so.

The source you used to back up your claim that "YouTube consumes 90% of Internet traffic" is laughable.
You also fail to realise that video traffic and YouTube traffic are not one and the same.
You can come out the corner but only if you promise to go for reading lessons.

Ads annoy me to no end. The ONLY app in which I will tolerate it, is Shazam. The rest...ads? Uninstall.

i hardly notice ads.

even on my PCs i don't run adblocker or those type of apps. i used to worry about them when data was a serious cost.
