Google blocks YouTube access from Amazon devices

Sounds like the real losers here are the consumers...

//waits for Google to pull Amazon Prime from Play store :whistling: Wonder how many subscribers will Amazon loose?

“Google is setting a disappointing precedent by selectively blocking customer access to an open website.”

Isn't that what Amazon is doing, also. Selectively dictates what customers has access to. Blocking products, like Chrome cast and Apple TV.

Interesting timeline. When it comes to force (just before Christmas) and without any warning.

I think only legitimate users are affected. Apps like Terrarium TV will work as usual on the Fire Stick.

Amazon being the idiot here imo.

Google has clear guidelines on how their apps should be used and Amazon thinks these rules shouldn't apply to them because they're special somehow. Then they go out of their way to remove Google products from their store. Dumbasses.

I think you have the order of the events in the incorrect order. At least when I read the international articles, Amazon is complying with the usage of the apps.

But we tha biggest losers in the end. 2 elephants fighting , the grass taking the heat

I like a lot of what Amazon does but not allowing Google products to be sold on their store is anti-customer which is what they claim to be all about.

Personally I think Amazon's punishment for being anti-customer in this case should be much, much worse than no YouTube access.
