Not sure I agree with you there, beyond SoC getting support.
Even my OnePlus Nord with a 775G was completely fine, 2020 phone, didn't really upgrade because of it, mostly security updates (thanks QC).
We've gotten to the point that the SoC is fine for most flagships for the last few years already, part of the reason that smartphone sales over the last few years have slowed down.
Thought you'd only link Pixel 8 or newer, since 6/7 known overheat with Tensor G1/2?
Second post starts with "I feel", and has 0 upvotes.
Third post is more than 24 hours, and is talking about a screen quality issue, thought you'd be talking about the SoC being an issue (so overheating, etc.). And most of those upvote are person is using a Samsung now, and Samsung's flagships are generally decent, don't disagree here.
Fourth post 0 upvotes and is just a random rant, think it more likely user has random app installed that is killing the device since so low battery life. Welcome to Android, there's both benefits and negatives to being able to just have an app run properly in the background.
Fifth post is definitely not 24 hours again.
Here's iPhone 15 Pro overheating, sorted by throttling:
The iPhone 15 Pro is hot because it has shed weight, per analyst.

Which ties in with this post of yours:
You're shifting the goal posts a bit here, so Dolby's post regarding all the other issues make sense.

And again, the entire point of my post was that for modern, most of the time, for most users, we've gotten to the point that the SoC just doesn't matter, and the rest of the phone is more important (display, camera, price).
Basically flagship it's a case of do you prefer iOS or Android?
If iOS, what is your budget -> pick that iPhone (though this has gotten more and more difficult with the number of options, no real differentiation between generations, etc., Steve Jobs would be proud).
Android -> Do you prefer Stock or more stuff added? If Stock -> Pixel or maybe Motorola? Else probably Samsung, pick based on budget.
I prefer Android for basic stuff like putting my icons where I like on the home screen, better notifications, way better adaptive brightness, side load an app (I'm in EU, might be Apple is finally forced to allow it, will be interesting), USB C (charging my steam deck, laptop and phone with the same cable, but EU, this will be sorted), and prefer the gestures (think Android 12). Can't argue browser anymore, thanks EU again, since I use FF with uBlock on my phone.
Also one that I think doesn't apply to most users: I actually use split screen on my phone to have both YT and e.g. Telegram open at the same time. You could argue PIP, but I read through the comments while waiting on replies. And then watch integration, but again, doesn't really matter as much, and EU rules will help with that as well.
Actually funny how EU is making iPhones a lot better, but it will cost Apple profits.
