Google boss Eric Schmidt said Monday that the tech giant had developed new technology that makes it harder to find child sexual abuse images on the web.

How hard is hard. There are direct links than can easily be passed using alternative mediums such as their whatsapp.
I guess trying is better than giving up altogether.

Waste of time

This is kinda limited. Actually, extremely. Are they going to share with yahoo and bing? No? Well then ho hum. Even if they do, they are being exceeingly selective in what they want to block. It's like blocking all porn containing Vietnamese people. They will achieve approximately zero. The problem needs to be addressed before people start looking for child porn.

I have never encountered random child porn images in my google searches so I imagine you have to look pretty hard.

Its probably just some words are being excluded from search results, or media is being excluded from results.
