I simply cannot believe the increase in browsing speed switching from Firefox 3.5.2 to Chrome 4.....it is insane!

My Amilo Celeron M notebook feels like a Core2Duo notebook now. :)

Is Chrome now available for Linux? Last time i checked it said that it is still "experimental" and should not be used by normal users that dont want crashing software????

I used the Chrome beta on Suse and it was nice

Where can I acually download chrome for ubuntu 9.04?

I also want to try it...but I want the .deb file for linux mint.....this thing where stuff is only available in .tar.gz thingy magiggys does not do it for me :-)

I installed the .deb unstable package and its working like a dream, havent had any crashes.

Think the key is just to have ample RAM for Chrome, the dev version is known to use a lot of RAM for the speed and performance gains you see.

Ive got 1.2GB RAM installed in my L1300 and its working without any problems.

Do you have that irritating block on the bottom left of your screen whenever chrome is open? I p*ssed me off big time on my opensuse box.

Here ya go : http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel

Scroll down to Linux and choose between 32-bit and 64-bit. I picked this package for Ubuntu 9.04 :

Dev channel (for 32-bit systems): google-chrome-unstable_current_i386.deb

*Oh, and cos its .deb, you can just double-click on the file in Ubuntu to install Chrome.

Thank you very much....will give it a bang tonight. Used Chrome in Windows before I made the switch to Linux (life changing I tell ya) :-)

Me as well. :)

The nice thing is that Chrome pulled all the bookmarks, etc from Firefox and I was surfing in 10 seconds.

One thing I would highly recommend, is to change all your browser fonts to SegoeUI (Windows Vista default font), just search for SegoeUI font on Google.

Well, Ive changed all my system fonts in Ubuntu to SegoeUI as well, thats how I like it. ;)

I prefer Opera though so I'll pass Chrome until plug ins are supported.

Regarding fonts.... Myriad Pro Semibold FTW!
Looks as good as a mac. ;)

I love Chrome on Ubuntu, but there is one slight problem.....it looks like Adobe Flash is not working 100%.

Will have to search for a solution. ;)

WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That friggin progress bar "box" is fixed! It no longer displays the whole time even if you are not in the Chrome window.

Me LIKES!

If flash is not working then its allrrriggght....just wanna see what its like on Mint. Will still keep Firefox as main browser for now.

Flash is working 150% in Chrome now. ;)

You basically just needs to tell Chrome to look for the flash plugin and copy it to Chromes folder. I have posted the link how to do it. :)
