Google Chrome reloads pages 28% faster

Google has sped up page reloads in Chrome, with reloading sites now said to be 28% faster.

According to a report by TechCrunch, Google worked with Facebook and Mozilla (Firefox) to make the page reloads faster.

Example: I like downloading videos from YouTube to watch offline when I have time. Google keeps clearing out extensions that let you download off YouTube. I gave up and use Firefox for that usecase.

Just put ss in front of the URL like so https://ssyoutube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=7F37r50VUTQ or use tampermonkey and a script. With the age of streaming I don't care though downloading is pointless.

Age of streaming is not viable in SA with the likes of Vodacon.

Inside your home with adsl sure.

Practical example I go jog. I must rather download my music on adsl or download my deezer Playlist than stream that shiat over Vodacon and the likes ending up paying more to then than I would to the gym

What I do aswell. Every weekday I wake up I say OK Google play me some music. It'll start a playlist based on a genre I like and will cache the playlist while I listen at home and will continue playing till I get to work. To me it still forms part of the streaming experience.

Same. I'd like to use Chrome, as something about the page rendering and scrolling seems especially nice and smooth. But I can't live without the FlashGot addon (lets any download be sent to pretty much any download manager) and live RSS folders. I've tried some RSS folder alternatives in Chrome but they don't work nearly as well. I don't understand how anyone can get by without them, as you can browse the headlines for a dozen sites via RSS folders in a minute or less.

Also, LastPass works better in Firefox. Sometimes login forms can't be filled in with Chrome. Never happens in Firefox.

Chrome now supports download resumption (took them long enough) so I don't bother with a download manager anymore but IDM/FDM does have integration via addons. For rss feeds there's Feedly/Google newsstand/Inoreader. Why bother with a offline solution anymore?
