Domains are renewed annually, with some registrars allowing customers to renew their domains several years in advance.

Currently two years in advance - I’ve asked ZACR very nicely to allow us 10 year renewals which would potentially prevent things like this, and also shaft ZADNA given their new ideas…

Was wondering why I couldn’t search from my safari browser on my phone from the URL input field.

Yip, we have been asking ZADNA for years to change the policy to allow for 10-year renewals, yet nothing happens.
Maybe Google can persuade them

Though at least one year sub with redirect would seem logical.

Unless the cost of that 1 year sub is access to their infrastructure by the ANC, that's was the legislation wants.

on a side note, I recall someone locally here in RSA registering Facebook.co.za a couple years back. Think he wanted a bunch of cash and ended up getting strong armed.
