Hi All,

I have a weird issue and was hoping a few of you could assist in testing. Currently, on seacom's network (via Level7), I am receiving no response back from Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4). Although I can access the servers and it seems routing is fine (see below), the server doesn't respond at all. Other DNS servers work fine. Could anyone please try resolve a domain using host or dig for these servers?

Code:
traceroute to 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
 1  dlinkrouter (10.0.0.2)  2.173 ms  3.420 ms  3.481 ms

You could also test towards Cloudflare @ 1.1.1.1
Code:
$ nslookup mybroadband.com 8.8.8.8
Server:         8.8.8.8
Address:        8.8.8.8#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:   mybroadband.com
Address: 138.68.250.210
$ nslookup mybroadband.com 8.8.4.4
Server:         8.8.4.4
Address:        8.8.4.4#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:   mybroadband.com
Address: 138.68.250.210
$ nslookup mybroadband.com 1.1.1.1
Server:         1.1.1.1
Address:        1.1.1.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:   mybroadband.com

Why use google DNS anyways if you are in CPT? You could reduce latency to it to like 5ms if you use Cloudflare or Quad9. It probably won't make that huge of a difference but 5ms is better than 21ms.

google DNS working fine on Afrihost

nslookup mybroadband.co.za 8.8.8.8
Server: dns.google
Address: 8.8.8.8

Name: mybroadband.co.za
Addresses: 2606:4700:10::6814:9a9
