Google drive mounted in Windows/Linux

Tested with France ip found list of ip address on the rlcone post and playing a 3 gig mkv no issues.

Set the DNS server on in the vm that runs plex and rclone better than changing ip address all the time.

Here is the Kenya Google Drive edge servers. It's only 48ms away but slow sadly....

Kenya, MBA
Name: www.googleapis.com
Addresses:
2a00:1450:401a:801::200a - slow
2a00:1450:401a:800::200a - very fast
172.217.170.170
172.217.170.202

2a00:1450:401a:800::200a
172.217.170.170

For me this server has really changed Google drive completely for me. It's basically maxing my 1Gbps line no matter what and on my oracle vps I get like 2.3Gbps to it. I just use the --drive-chunk-size 256M with 2 or 3 connections and maxes my line at 1Gbps.

@William1102

Finally figured out why Onedrive is so slow and how to speed it up.

We were using the wrong flags.

Using one of the below flags with your own client id and secret. Suddenly my upload speeds are massive. Managed to upload 600GB in no time to Onedrive.

--onedrive-chunk-size 100M

--onedrive-chunk-size 150M

Wow thanks cavedog you’re a genius that’s blazing fast actually

Guess I’ll stick to using the google drive as it’s plenty fast for me

But I am planning on setting up amother plex server so I’ll definitely check out these flags

Although I might add google drive doesn’t throttle as fast as onedrive does even with client Id

But thanks for the input

Out of interest sake, anyone else here use https://cloudbox.works/ ?

Must say I am pretty impressed with how easy this made getting all the nzbs/tors going. Uses ansible to set 90% of the things up on the OS level, and some on the apps, with only the last bit required from a human. Moved my whole rclone setup to it.

Cloudbox is pretty great I use the their plex autoscan (due to the size of my plex library).

Other notable competitors are saltbox, pts (plexguide fork) and sudobox (currently under development). All of them use ansible and docker.

Any one using Dropbox in rclone?
Been looking at dropbox as an alternative given the uncertainty with google quotas, seems its pretty workable since you only need 3 seats which comes out at like ~$90/m. Not sure how I'm going to handle the Google Account part (emails/cal/contacts/general android usefulness things) yet, foresee a headache in my near future.

at the cost google R350 vs dropbox R1500 would need to share with someone but for right now wont jump ship.

Better to use the Onedrive Dev sub as a secondary solution.

It's pretty decent for free especially since you get all office 365 online and offline apps also and 5TB per account onedrive and they have CPT and JHB peering points.

Does this only work for download or does it work for upload aswell?

If you upload via rclone then yes. In the browser we are still at the mercy of Google choosing the server to serve the content.

I'm facing a weird issue here that seems to be isolated to my oracle instance, it's like the upload is forever capped no matter what.
I'm getting great single threaded speeds when i'm downloading via rclone but my uploads aren't as good. No matter what i do, each thread/file when uploading maxes out at like 19MB/s.

On windows, i can max out my 500/200 line and get an upload of ~25MB/s per file so this is weird

What speeds are you getting the oracle box from speedtest?

Do you use the same command on oracle and did you add the IP in the hostname? Do you have IPv6 enabled?

4gbps up and down

Yep, same exact commands. The pictures above are from the oracle instance and i've got IPv6 enabled.
Below is my hosts file
