Google drive mounted in Windows/Linux

I can confirm that Google started forcing their limits. They no longer have any unlimited storage accounts. Maybe they will still honour those who signed up for unlimited packages before. As for new clients or old clients upgrading or downgrading accounts, those limits start applying.

Last year we upgraded to Google's Enterprise package. While advertising 'unlimited' storage, you only get 5TB pooled per user. Once you reach 5TB storage, you need to contact Google and can ask for more storage. After 3 months of struggling and correspondence they offered us 2TB additional storage, but after that we needed to pay something like US$200 per month for 10TB if I recall correctly.

I decided to rather purchase 3 16TB HDD's and use one of them as my storage drive and the other two for keeping backups. It just works out a lot cheaper and makes more financial sense that using online paid services.

You need the workspace enterprise plus plan for unlimited. Haven't run into any issues with limits, it just grows as needed :) Dropbox business is my plan b though

I was physically blocked at 5TB. Even received errors in Gmail that mail cannot be received or sent. I contacted Google and they referred me back to the signup page where they clearly stated that Enterprise package had a 5TB limit. Nonetheless they also stated that you could request additional storage, but you had to put the request in writing and why you require additional storage. After two days I was granted an additional 2TB at no costs, but they did inform me that there will be no further additional storage and that I would need to sign up for paid storage.

They provided me a link to the signup page and when I saw US$200 a month for 10TB I just gave up.

Yeah, you were probably on workspace enterprise standard. Every time I start approaching my limit it just grows +5TB. At around 90TB currently, but it's time to start culling the stuff that has never been watched lol.

I was migrated from the old gsuite so maybe it's a legacy thing.

That is VERY handy. I have a mammoth 15GB...

I did not know they have various types of Enterprise subs. When we upgraded there was no options. In fact, just checked my account and it still only shows Enterprise as the only option I can upgrade to. Nonetheless, I think everyone who had unlimited storage gets to keep it. Those who did not don't.

Do you get blocked on the team drives also?

maybe i must give it a try and see...for now i got a dodgy ebay account.
All my files are encrypted and I am aware those files can be deleted anytime (it's basically a backup to my backup),
I actually got 2 ebays account and I still need to sync the 2 (thats my weekend task...lol)

I don't have massive amount a of files, 5TB is actually okish, 10 will be great.

Does anybody have a guide how to get rclone union working with sonarr and radarr?

What is rclone union?

Rclone union allows you to have a single mount point/folder that is linked to different remotes. So you can have gdrive1, gdrive2, onedrive1, onedrive2, onedrive3, dropbox1, local1 all under a single mount point like /media

this is nice because for Sonarr and Radarr you simply point it to /media and if files are moved from local to gdrive1 or maybe ondedrive3 sonarr and radarr as well as plex or jellyfin still see the file location as being exactly the same no changes so no need to update your media file location in your apps.

You can have a look at saltbox, they have a nice multi drive setup. But that works under the assumption that you have the files split to not upload to all of them (series -gdrive, series 4k - onedrive1, etc)

Using the byetsized hosting guide.

I really do like rclone union. It's really working well for me hey
