Google Error

my google gives me an error but I just type in the letters at the bottom once , it continues the search and everything is fine & I have Iburst and in Jo'burg

I can always download from rapidshare, I do it quite regularly and have never got that message before. Except for when I tried to download two things at once. You think this is also just coincidence or because I am in Cape Town?

It might well be that there is a proxy for JHB and one for CPT, with much fewer useres in Cape Town it could explain it. I also never get those google errors.

Same here as I've never had those errors which now makes me think CT does not have that problem.:p

I received an email reply from the helpdesk telling me that there was problem with the squid proxy, which is now fixed. I haven't had the Google error since then.

I still get the Google error on iBurst. I have never come across it on DSL, which I use more than iBurst. It's def. an iBurst related problem.

My DSL arrives soon, good riddance to iBurst!
This problem also occurs sometimes on ADSL --- Telkom also have a transparent proxy. I have come across it several times on my DSL connection (TelkomInternet). Not sure if this is ISP-specific though, or to all SAIX ISPs, or what. However Telkom actually seems to use a transparent proxy cluster these days (your HTTP requests may be routed through one of a number of proxy servers) so this probably mitigates the problem i.e. helps it to occur less frequently.

At work (diginet) I get it on google.com, not on google.co.za  Often I can't even connect to google.com...

At home I get it with iBurst with IPCop's transparent proxy (in addition to the WBS transparent proxy), but if I add my FC4 box's manual squid proxy as well, it is fine from WinXP and FC4

I'd say about 90% of the *** that we're having on iBurst.... aside from the fact that they're all pathetic is the Transparent proxy...

for something that not supposed to be there, it sure is getting in the f-ing way!

i get the same error every now and again on my iburst @ home. but on my adsl @ work, ive never ever ever had it!

*sigh* it usually goes straight thru to my search results once I type in the code, but it's bloody annoying
