google gtalk app - does it work?

right, so after this I went and fired up gtalk

im running a Samsung Galaxy Note OTA GB stock. "Talk" was pre-installed it would appear

I opened it, and it shows my google account that Im logged in the phone with. Brings up all my chat contacts with their various statuses etc etc. When I type to them they RECEIVE my message, but I cant see their reply.

Am I being retarded? :confused:

I even went and disabled chat in my gmail (which I have open on my PC at the moment)

Help please :o
 
Was busy with gtalk last night and whilst it works with some phones it seems not to work with others. I was online with a BB8520 but the BB9780 would not load the app (would not load pass password) so I am wondering if it was not BIS related my problem.

Nope, he has an Android phone, my guess would be he forgot to open allow access in some firewall app :)
 
When he says he can't see their reply, maybe that's because they did not reply.

its working now btw. It took a while to sync or something. People were replying but the messages were not coming through to me, but they were getting mine.

Left it for an hour or so and then it started working.

Come to think of it, reminds me of my brothers S2 where it says he is always online. When I message him he gets nothing... (same story if ANYone messages him, its weird)
