Google launches Home Mini

i did read somewhere that i should use US english on the device and i'm pretty sure that i did that, however my phone was SA english when i was setting it up. wonder if that would have made a difference?

Shouldn't have...

But just change it and it should work...

hey! it worked! opened the app when i got home and "multi user support is now available" was there. all by itself. i did the voice training thing and it worked for me and rejected my wife. it didn't have the option on my wife's phone, so i'll have to see if it also simply sorts itself out over the next few days.

My advice would be to let it be. There is no need for your wife to use the app. She would just be using it to order girls stuff anyway.

Oh, and congrats!

So I got 2 google home minis this week, and have been using them with the phillips hue system. All worked great.

Set them up, and all was fine until after a day, the minis disconnected from my wifi .
Set them up again and then after another 2 days they disconnected again from my wifi.

Tried setting them up again, but this time the google minis broadcast their own wifi network, and my phone ends up connecting to this network instead of my home wifi network. When I try to connect my phone to my home network, and go through the set-up on the home app on my phone, it doesnt pick up my home wifi network.

Using a Huawei B315s modem. I've seen online some people suggest switching to a 5GHZ network, but I'm not sure if this router supports 5GHZ

Any one else experience a similar problem and managed to resolve?
Would appreciate any advice

Yes - happens to me every now and then - seems to be related to wifi strength as it happens more often to the one furthest from the router.

Hi Xrapidx,

By every now and then do you mean weekly or is it a daily occurence?
Are you using 2.4 GHZ frequency router?

This morning, my issue was that I simply couldnt re-connect them whereas previously I was able to connect them through the set up option. So not sure what to do now - will try again later this evening.

Was almost daily - then put in a wifi extender - now its less frequent, actually happened this week for the first time in about two months.

To re-add them I usually have to take them to the same room as the router.
