Thanx was waiting for 5.7 Navigation version for us none US residence :)

Was playing with the downloads on my Tablet yesterday, very cool to be able to check maps of my area without the use of internet.

Do you notice an improvement over the previous version?

There are quite a few changes (improvements).

Live directions, if you're not using navigation is better.

Navigation battery performance is supposed to be improved.

And then the offline map download. Which is limited to ten, ten mile2 areas, is nice. Hopefully in future the entire map can be downloaded.

My Moto Defy aint rooted and Brut Google Nav installed without a hitch on it. I dont know why guys here say they had to root their phone. The only reason I can think of is that they wanted to uninstall the Google Maps and Nav that came with the phone and does not work here. But alll you have to do to get around it is download the tagged version on xda and this will install it alongside the system apps.
 
Brut version does work without root. I don't think the ownhere mod does. The 'official' brut version stops at 4.60

Feel free to try to get ownhere on your phone. There are two versions for download. And let us know how it goes
