Google Maps testing collision and speed trap reports

Yeah honestly why can't the two just talk to each other and fully integrate everything.

It's getting silly now.
I think Waze is the "test" platform, plus it's already got a loyal following.
I also prefer some of Waze's features like Spotify integration, not sure if they will allow it on Google Maps.

Waze is community driven, and now with Google+ sunk I doubt that Google would want Maps to compete with Waze.

The law was put in place to protect people who cannot control themselves in an acceptable way. Speed restrictions are there for your safety and that of others.
By warning people of speed traps you are just negating the reason for enforcing safety and working against society.

Then let the speed cops go out and patrol....

I think they do talk to each other to some degree.. at least for portions of the traffic data, but yeah as far as I'm concerned they should just collapse the two into a single entity.

Actually in warning people of speed cameras....you are slowing them down which has the desired end result the speed camera is meant for but double fold.

So it can only be a good thing.

Yeah there is a definitely a threshold of reported information form Waze that triggers events into Google Maps in my experience.

Doubt they would be getting it anywhere else.

But considering all their Places data is crown sourced I really don't know why they don't just pull it all into one App.

In adding these functions anyway they are replacing most of what Waze does so I don't see how it would last very long either way.

Nah we want the alerts, its not like a new thing
