Google Nexus 4

This factor won't matter to everyone - but if you travel to the US often (and use a T-Mobile SIM), you won't get 3g with the Galaxy, but will with Nexus devices. They've locked their 3g network down - if you didn't get your phone from T-Mobile, it's throttled. But Google apparently got the Nexus phones whitelisted.

(Mine is with Berco couriers, according to a call earlier today - waiting to hear what the customs/VAT bill is).
Sucks that they do that. I guess once LTE takes over in the US an LTE mifi device might be a good alternative.

Not sure what you're trying to say? You're saying that the benefits of Android 4.2 are over shadowed by that list?

I assume you haven't seen the change log of 4.2...
Androidpolice called 4.2 the buggiest release yet. I am saying that I don't "wish" the S3 gets the update until they sort out the above mentioned problems.

As for the change log, no I didn't see it. I saw the "new" features like Photo Sphere but not much else.

My costs, for those interested:
N4 (8Gb): R 3 245
Shipping (Postbox-courier): R325
Berco Express: R624 (VAT) and R150 (agency and docs fee)
Total: R 4 344

Should get it tomorrow.

I ordered two Nexus 4 8GBs.

Total cost: R3670,95 per phone.

Price difference is likely due to cost being split between 2 phones.

Just a heads up:

The Nexus 4 also qualified for special duties. There are 3 items charged for:
1) Admin fee by courier company
2) Duties (based on duty schedule)
3) VAT (based on 110% of the value)

Electronics attract only VAT. However a cellphone does attract a duty fee (I can confirm this from my invoice from customs).

Big price difference, that - exchange rate also a factor, I'd guess. I got my invoice around noon today.

Me also, pretty sure ours was bundled :) Hopefully that means I receive mine tomorrow also!

That's quite a saving. Hmm, might be worth trying to do a joint order with someone
Well your shipping (from Play Store and Postbox-courier) + admin fee is all split between however many you order.

Postbox-courier is so cheap that bundling extra phones doesn't add much to the delivery fee. If you get 4 phones, you'll pay quite a bit less (which is the max you would be able to order because of the model limits).

Anyone looking to do a shipment, let me know, getting fed up of my S2

I just ordered a 16gig n4 on Friday the 8th.
On my google wallet it says pending?? some help gnome?
How long did it take for your order to get passed the "pending" stage?

Mine took about 2 business days to ship.

Don't worry too much about it. It says ships within 2 weeks on the Play Store, so it can take a while. It depends on stock.

If there is actually a problem, they'll let you know and reverse the transaction.

Also you ordered on a Friday, append 1 business day for ordering on a Friday :p

EDIT: Actually I had a think about it while making coffee, mine took 3 business days before it shipped. Some people on XDA-developers said they waited a week. It is completely normal.

I've been reading a lot on XDA-developers about Nexus 4s getting "red light of death", but really only when they have custom ROMs installed.

Anyone have any issues?

I have not had any issues... I have flashed about 3 nightlies for my PA ROM and prior to that I had used two other ROM's. So thats 6 ROM flashes so far... no issues. If I kill it... so be it, will revert back to my GNote till the Sony Experia Z is out.

Getting fed up of bluetooth issues on AOKP and CM - not a fan of TW... Plus my nexus 7 has shown me how awesome android can be...

Saw your post in the S2 section... I would recommend Resurrection Remix 3.1.3, as I have had 0 issues with this ROM, including Bluetooth (and I stream music every day using Bluetooth).
