Google Nexus 4

If I remember correctly, Vodacom were pushing people to Samsung shop at Vodaworld for stock of the Galaxy Nexus.....haven't seen a similar LG shop...

There is a LG shop at Vodacom world (almost at the end on the right hand side.) But AFAIK LG SA said they wont bring it in.

can't find source now but apparantly in sweden, LG is not selling it at Google's Price there. and Play Store is not available in Sweden. It's all ****ed :( whenever I want something so badly companies ruin all the fun for me.

same in spain apparently
but they have the play store atleast

I know someone who is going to Australia pretty soon, but too soon...
I've read about the other Nexus devices taking a while to ship, and I can't risk ordering it and it arriving a day after he leaves for SA. I have two options:
1. Rather just get a Galaxy Nexus
2. Use something like BongoUS or MyUS so I can get it re-shipped here.

Thoughts?

Guys how much do u think it will cost to import it.I am thinking of purchasing it early next year

Depends on the exchange rate then but for today:

$350 (16GB model) + ??? for shipping to MyUS (don't know Google's shipping policy)
$55.40 + $10 for once off shipping from US to SA via MyUS
($350 * 1.1 * 0.14) = $53.9 for South African VAT
== $469
+R50 or so possibly for customs clearance / admin
== R4125 total cost

R4125 vs R3041 buying directly from the play store. That's R1000 lost to just import this damn thing. Eish.

In order to purchase from the play store you need to have a US billing address and a US credit card.That seems to be the problem

I seem to remember BongoUS or MyUS saying that they could pay on your behalf (after you've paid, of course) if the company you're buying from doesn't accept sa credit cards.

anybody tried this? is this a bad option? :confused:

I see MYUS has a personal shopper thing where they can order and pay on your behalf but you will have to pay 5-10% as their fee.

Considering I paid for my Nexus 7 (16GB) and it worked out to R3100 (incl. shipping and VAT) I'm expecting to not pay more than R3500 for the Nexus 4 (8GB).

Nexus 7 I bought from Amazon.com.

Nexus 4 I'll buy from either Amazon or eBay depending where it can be had for cheapest + shipping (I expect Amazon will likely be the cheapest)

MyUS and all those services really aren't an option for me unless nothing else is available.

Reading the comments on the latest verge update on the N4/N10 shows that the device is sold out in US GER and AUS. the phone was up for sale today on the play store. sigh.

I have opted to go for another phone. The limited storage space on the phone is a killer for me :(. People saying only 13Gb of storage is available on the 16Gb variant.
If i had a bigger data bundle then it would not be a problem :).

My heart is set on this phone.

Im sick of slow updates and flashing ROMS. I just want an up to date droid

Hopefully Zakdoc will bring a couple in like the did with the nexus 7's. Usually his prices are extremely competetive.
