Google Nexus 4

Hi bro

Please if you get your nexus 10...please create a post on how to order from the US playstore pls :)

Thankx in Advance

Some info on availability of the N4 from the director of LG France's Mobile Communication division:

What's happening with the Nexus 4, a very competitive but unavailable product?

- The Nexus 4 indeed offers an excellent technical specs/price ratio. The stock issues aren't complety related to LG. Google submitted us some sales predictions calculated from their sales history for the previous Nexus. However they were lower than the actual demand. The current shipments from LG to Google match what had been preordered on the Google Play site. We still ship them regularly. But it's "just-in-time". That's why the Nexus 4 is always shown as sold out and the potential buyers have the feeling they can't buy it.
As an example, the initial predictions of Google were 10 times higher for the United Kingdom and for Germany. So we ship a lot more to these countries than to France. There was a happy medium that was badly anticipated. But mind that I'm not blaming anyone. Between Google and LG, everything is going smoothly. Today, if we want to increase the shipments pace, there will be a 6-week delay.

Is the Nexus 4 production going to stop?

LG refuted this information [rumors said that the korean group planned to stop the production]. The Nexus 4 is not stopping. On the contrary, the pace will increase. Starting mid-February, there will no longer be any tension in the market.

So for those that have used a Nexus, how does it compare to the S3?

Just want to thank you again for this seriously useful post.

The Nexus 4 is still out of stock in the US Playstore but I wanted a Nexus 10 also. Nexus 10 is actually in stock on the US Playstore.

Got a free 7 day UnoTelly trail account which got me onto the playstore. Ordered the Nexus 10 which has shipped to PostBox-Courier. Waiting for it to arrive in SA.

Will be doing exactly the same for the Nexus 4s because the price difference is huge.

Might post back with complete procedure if others are interested.

Hope you come right with this, I really want the Nexus 10...

Many of my close friends and colleagues have the S3, and my wife owns the HTC One X (on which I loaded CM10).

I'm probably biased because I have always preferred vanilla Android, but both the One X and my Nexus 4 provide a smoother, better Android experience than the stock S3. With that said, I have briefly tried CM on the S3, and it too was really slick, but I haven't compared side-by-side.

I think all three phones are fantastic, and you can't go wrong with any of them. But yeah, the short answer is that the Nexus 4 *is* the fastest Android phone I've ever used, and pretty much everyone I've shown it to echoes that sentiment. Coupled with the fact that its easily the sexiest of the three ito looks / hardware its definitely the winner.

And this is what tempts me...

Where did you guys buy yours? I am sure that this has been mentioned before, sorry for this then...

How much did the device cost?

Checked my emails, totals costs thus far:

Nexus 10 (16GB) R3,541.85 ($399.00)
Shipping: R124.19 ($13.99)
Tax: R316.19 ($35.62)
Total: R3,982.23 ($448.61)

+ Postbox-courier: R365.64 ($41.19 USD)

If I need to pay tax, that would be:
$399 = R3,541.85 x 1.1 * 0.14 = R545,4449

That is still pretty cheap for a top of the line tablet... Not much more than the Nexus 7...

Received my Qi wireless charger from FastTech today. All-in-all I was impressed with the service from them since it arrived promptly, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it came with a "South African" adapter, even though I chose "UK adapter" when I purchased.

The quality of the device is... well not great. That is to say, there's nothing wrong with it, but it feels pretty cheap and plastic. As someone on the XDA thread pointed out, the phone has to be placed upside down for charging to take place. Not really a deal breaker, but a pity that you can't just plonk it down in whichever orientation you feel like. So far, it has got to 92% and climbing. I am very curious to see if it will go beyond 94%, which is as far as the other chap on XDA managed to get.

I'll keep you posted.

Update: Woop! 100%. This flashing blue LED has to go though.
