Google Nexus 4G with Android 4

That is unacceptable! I will not take a phone that does not have a noti light!

Yea I found it way to useful to go without, it's a major reason for me using custom firmware on my SGS. So it's something I'll definitely look for in future phones. Why Samsung doesn't care about it, I don't know.

Err, no.
"Next-generation dual-core 1.2GHz or 1.5GHz CPU"
"The 5-megapixel camera, however, is said to be an advanced 5-megapixel sensor delivering class-leading image quality in addition to superior low-light performance"
Better sensor also means better video quality.
SGS2 also has terrible mono sound recording.
It's also designed around Android 4.0 with no hardware buttons.

Anyway, this is a rumour so subject to change. Hopefully it's better than it sounds.

Please let it have a friggin notification light and great sound quality (which Android phones often lack, including the SGS2 which actually has a worse sound processor than the SGS).

Yes, I read the specs. I don't see any difference apart from it's apparent awesome camera capabilities. The Galaxy SII already has a dual-core 1.2ghz processor that can be overclocked to 1.5ghz. Android 4, I couldn't care about. Can't be much different to the current one. Camera and video on the SII is superb, to say the least, so these mean nothing to me. Time will tell.

Hmmm, not only that, but it also uses dual-chanel DDR2 ram... S2 has 1 channel... so the ram is faster... Also the processors are similar, but looks like the OMAP has been refined a little here and there. So no, I think the S2 is getting trumped :p
The LG Optimus 3D also has a dual-channel memory architecture. On paper, it's supposed to make the phone faster, but I don't think it's been witnessed yet. As time goes by, all the phones will need to be better than the SII, as I think this is the phone everyone is trying to beat at the moment and probably for the next few months.

That's a major issue to you? Gosh :erm:

Knowing if I have a message or not without picking up my phone matters, yes. Otherwise I might only notice it a few hours later.
So yes, it matters to me because I don't check my phone every 5 minutes.

+ 100

It would irritate me endlessly having to get the screen to light up to see if there is a message. Notification light should be standard on all phones!

Okay, each to his own then. It's useful, but I wouldn't put it down as a dealbreaker. I can hear if I have a message or feel/hear the phone vibrate. Not so much of an issue to me, but each to his own.

What's the big deal? Specs are less than the Galaxy SII, apart from the "720 P monster screen" and the SAME RAM and the SAME video capabilities. It has a smaller camera and smaller secondary camera.

It's not about the hardware, it's about the software:

1. Nexus-branded phones are the only phones you can buy that have the pure, unadulterated Android experience, with zero manufacturer- and network-installed bloatware.

...and, more importantly:

2. This will be the first commercially-available device with Android 4.0. Everything I've read so far suggests that Android 4 is *not* going to be an incremental upgrade. It's going to be a complete overhaul of the user interface, and I for one can't wait.

You actually think the networks are not going to tamper with it? :D

Any one else actually prefer the physical buttons like home, search, menu etc? Tho i suppose this could make room for a bigger screen tho i do really enjoy the optical pad

I actually do prefer physical buttons like the desire with the optical sensor but gotten use to the touch surface of the DHD. I guess including them into the OS is the next step in its evolution.

yea agree its the next step. Though i do use the optical sensor alot when browsing the web as its easier to click on links.

I miss it when taking photo's with the phone as it was always so much easier to use an actual button than touching a screen, so guess I would have been ok if my phone had a dedicated button.

Can't they put backup menu buttons on the side so you can choose whether to use them or not.
