Google Nexus 5

I'm not sure about a Nexus 5 specific issue but the usual problems with networks are: WiFi not connected properly, IP shared with another device (DHCP or static IP issues), DNS problems.

I've had problems where the DHCP was issuing 169.* addresses. Factory resetting the router fixed the problem. In this scenario, the computer was operating fine over WiFi but it definitely was a router problem.

Oops, accidentally sent the last past before finishing.

My suggestion is to factory reset the router and reconfigure. If that doesn't work, try using Google DNS: 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4.

Ok, I came right. I had to remove the MTN sim card and did it via the WiFi. I also had to modify a host file in one of the root folders as per instruction found on the net. The combo seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the help.
