Hey people can anyone confirm that D820 LTE works with Cell C?

Does anyone know where I can have a look at this device before ordering one? I'm interested in replacing my iPhone 4s but reluctant to order something I haven't seen before. I'm in JHB, Auckland Park.

Esquire is the only local stockist.

Anyone running the latest ParanoidAndroid beta? I'm considering it, that peek feature is damn nice...

Yeah it looks awesome, similar to the feature on the Moto X. Would have loved that phone. Does the N5 have an OLED display though?

Nope, it has an IPS LCD. Which is why I am attracted to the peek feature- the manner in which it is implemented.

The ROM will call the gyroscope and proximity sensors to detect any movement of the device, and to ascertain the type of movement- whether the device is in pocket, or being picked up from a table. From there, it will or will not display the notification within a 10 second window of it being received, so it doesn't constantly keep the screen on.

The interaction with the notifications is also simplistically good. I'm keen to try it out.

Cool. What are the differences?

Well, in terms of functionality, Gravity Screen will only control whether the screen is on or off, using the proximity sensors and gyroscope. The caveat here, is that it keeps those sensors on all the time, which is not good news for battery life.

PA's notification peek works differently. For a 10 second period after a notification has been received, the gyroscope and proximity sensors will be activated to check for both movement and light source, to ensure that the device is either being picked up from a desk, or being taken out of a pocket. From there, it will turn on the screen, display only the notifications that have come through, allow you to access them if you wish, and it will switch off the sensors once done. This will drain far less battery than Gravity Screen, as it will not keep the sensors on all the time. Once that 10 second reaction time has been passed, it will switch off the sensors until the next notification comes through.

Interesting - I use very limited features on GS and therefor no significant battery drain. Let us know how it goes once you installed PA

Gravity screen saves me battery life. Normally after using my phone I wouldn't lock the screen when putting it back on the table. Now with gravity screen it does that for me.

Yeah that good, otherwise you can kiss your battery life good bye.

It's one of the nice things about the OLED displays, since there are only able to activate the pixels they need.
