I see it's been discounted to $200 for a short period. That's a freaking bargain. I'd get it in a second if I was in the US.

Damn. That was only for yesterday, and I'm currently in the US - and had decided to pass on the N9, so didn't bother to go and fondle one. (But I now see the deal was only available through HTC, rather than in-store, in any case.)

Locally? No. In the US- I think that the likes of Best Buy and Amazon (along with the Play Store) offer them.

True. And they often seem unwilling to step out of the Apple mindset when it comes to trying other devices.
No doubt. $199 is a fantastic price, even if it's a little flawed.

I'm hoping that Nilay does the Nexus 6 review, he is the most objective of the lot. I mean, I read that Nexus 9 review and they mentioned the iPad 24 times. Sure, it's the benchmark, but I would like to read about the strengths and weakness of the Nexus 9 on its own merits, not solely in comparison to the iPad.
I'm awaiting the Anandtech review to see if those flaws are genuinely prevalent. The collection of reviews thus far have all had different opinions on the device, and very few actually did any remotely technical testing on the devices other than benchmarking. Their preliminary findings article seems to indicate quite a bit of positive feedback.

Didn't look like it when I checked. But irrelevant to me now, seeing as I'm back in SA in any case.
