Google phone

That's a good price but it's SOOO ugly! And really badly made.

If I was you, I would wait for the second gen android phones.

Stuff.tv did a "living with it" review for the T-mobile google phone and also came to the same conclusion, that it's nice for a first try but suggest waiting for other mobile phone manufacturers to bring out a decent device for android to be loaded onto.

Personally, having played with the google phone, I still prefer my iPhone.

beauty is in the eye of the beer holder ;)
But its surely easier to live with than a touchscreen only device like OMNIA or iPhone it has a keyboard which is great for any smartphone, writing notes emails etc without looking. Now the iphone guys are going to scream "i dont look while typing" yes cuz you're cockeyed.

Anyways, again badly made? How would you know that? You'll need to own one for atleast 6months. Its a new gen HTC, is the diamond badly made? HTC's quality is fine its not apple with its giant-"Lazooor" manufacturing process but it should be decent.

Only reason the G1 is cheaper than other smartphones is becuz it runs freeware. Not because it is inferior.

I see the G1's touchscreen is capacitive like the iPhone which means it is a pleasure to use. I think this phone rocks. It might not be a looker but it has gotten great reviews. Once there are more 3rd party android apps this phone will be tops.

Saw the G2 on the internets this morning - thinner and they ditched the keyboard... So the 2nd Android phone is again made by/for Google - nobody else has launched one yet...

are we supposed to get the g1 here in February? I emiled Leaf some time back and generally just asked if the device was supposed to come to our shores. They replied that they heard it was coming here round Feb, and according the reports Vodafone is supposed to be doing the exclusive deal, anyone know whats going on?
