Google Photos >>> iCloud

  • I went to iCloud.com and created 3 albums
  • I uploaded photos into the 3 new albums
  • I see them on the Apple TV if go to Photos > Albums
  • But I don't see them if I go to Photos > Albums on the iPhone
Must be a setting ?

Also, htf do you delete an album from iCloud on Windows?

Internet/WiFi issues?
Doesn't seem like it .

The iPhone is on WiFi and the ATV cabled - but 'only' half the speed and I wouldn't think that 30 minutes difference. Either way, they're synced now

In the lounge WiFi is very similar to Ethernet and bouncing between both areas.

Recently did this migration as well.
Did a Google Takeout of the photos only. Takeout created 2gb zip files which I downloaded, expanded and reuploaded to iCloud.
Does make iCloud recent photos messy but it’s all in one place.
Drank the Apple Kool-aid and don’t see myself going off platform for a while.

I gotta be honest - I find the whole thing a bit weird . The albums I’ve added today are listed as todays date/time - which screws up everything

Is my post what you’re referring to?
So the time screws up Recent?

* Library > All Photos gives todays date

* Album - Recent gives the correct date, but just sorts as per when media added - it doesn’t seem to even look at the date

That’s a bad example as it was via Insta and it stripped exif.

It had the exif but it’s still sorting wrong

Correct, this is what I was referring to.
And I’ve realised that it not only makes things look messy - it’s pretty shitty because 1st & 3rd party apps go straight to Recent when attaching photos.

So that means scrolling through about 1.200 photos before I can even attach anything *shrug*

Edit : Reset my entire iPhone from scratch in the hope the Recent would disappear. But still there with the same issue

Background : I’ve got many, many years of photos stored in Google Photos. Not only automatically uploaded photos from my phones, but also a number of uploaded (pre smartphone) photos.

1) Is there a way to transfer everything in Google Photos to iCloud (even paid) ?

2) I don’t want to cancel Google Photos yet - so is there a way to mirror everything iPhone / iCloud / Google Photos ?
Does google photos have The Fappening?
