Google Pixel 4 & 4 XL

Spoke to soon, today RMBs app update includes the face unlock
FNB app doesn't have it yet. Should be around corner.

The screen calling worked rather well. I do miss it.

With me the password manager works off face unlock. Then just past the password in.

Face unlock working now on both RMB and FNB app.
Oh wow, thats working for me too. Good on FNB.

Now how do we get call screening without it being a pain in the ass? Literally the only thing I want.

Google needs government approval for radar tech. Good luck :/

Without rooting and using an older version of the call app, no dice.

Not too worried about Soli, just want the call screening. But if Google doesn't even formally sell the phone here then why would they put any effort in.

What boggles the mind is that screen calling happens on the phone. As far as I know it doesn't even connect to any cloud service to analyse the speech and then respond etc..

All just legal licensing BS.

Working fine on mine.
And new assistant also started working a week ago. Using GSuite and and not US English.

I've had a few issues with face unlock at first. It just wouldn't reconise my face after the update. Redid the face unlock setup and all is golden again.

Overall, very smooth and battery life even seems a tad better. I expected worse.

A quick question for the Pixel owners.

I see there are typically 3 models, North America, Europe and Japan.
Which one did you buy?
Does the NA models work on Vodacom/MTN?
Did you buy directly from Google and use MyUS/AGS/similar, or did you buy from Amazon?

Not sure exactly what the difference is between them. It might be that the Japanese version has FeliCa support where the NA and EU models don't. Just make sure you don't buy a locked version, aka Verizon At & t etc.. You will have an expensive WiFi brick.

Buying directly form google is challenging with a SA credit card. They usually pick up that your card is a non US/EU card and your order gets cancelled.

I usually have a mate buy one for me at google or best buy and he sends it to my forwarding address.

Amazon is usually the most convenient option, but might cost a bit more. Think the pixel 5 Landed to your door is around 13.5k currently through Amazon US.

I've also ordered a few Amazon renewed pixels and they were all in brand new condition. They do however not come with the original box and charger.
