I've recently been getting these 403 Forbidden errors whenever I try to use Google.

"We're sorry...
... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now. "

In Firefox I get this error when I select a word on any website, right-click and choose the Search Google menu option. It then loads www.google.com but before it's supposed to change to google.co.za.... the error message comes up. I must then enter a security code to confirm it's a legitimate request and then everything works fine again. But an hour or two later... same story all over again.

I don't get errors when I go directly to google.co.za and do a search query from there.

Anyone else getting the same error? It's getting annoying.

I'm not using a proxy.

Yeah, been getting them now and again.
Got it yesterday when looking for "microsoft money" and some other software program names.

Got this from searchenginewatch.com:
"It's google's attempt to keep infected computers from automating queries to google, so certain queries are blacklisted. So even users that aren't infected, which is the vast majority of people who get this error, are still going to get this error."

There used to be a workaround firefox add-on, the "Google 403 bypassser", but it has since been removed since it doesn't work on the later versions. I haven't found an alternative solution yet..

I get this error every single search I do. Not once did I do a search that it doesn't give me that rubbish. I think maybe its one of the SAIX transparent proxies that has been flagged as SPAM. I don't know but I'm pretty sure its got to do with the transparent proxy :(
