Google says China blocking Gmail

Google says the Chinese government is interfering with its email services in China, making it difficult for users to gain access to its Gmail program.

Free thinking is a dangerous thing to those in power, but not as dangerous as being able to spread these ideas. China is just doing what all power hungry governments do.

I really do feel for Japan, but that does not mean we should ignore everything else.

Not only gmail is being blocked in China. I recently spent five weeks there and although I was able to receive emails on my Cybersmart account, I was blocked from sending out any and had to open a (Chinese) Foxmail account in order to reply to and send emails.

maybe cybersmart is a lot more interesting than we all thought i never had problems with my exchange mail on my phone while i was there a few wks ago, gmail was also fine, dunno what they mean the problem started end of jan...
