Hi all,

So my colleague got a new tablet for his birthday, he signed into the device starting using it but it at some point wanted to do a software update and he did it.
After completing the update, the tablet wouldn't boot properly - so he brought it to me - I tried everything I could find but ultimately did a "wipe data/factory reset" and the tablet booted up - but this is where the drama starts...

Verifying your account

This device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device

When I sign in, He gets a notification on his cellphone of me trying to access, he says YES but then it just takes me back to the login screen - I can try this as much as I want, nothing more happens.

The tablet is a Lenovo TB2-X30L.
I've got full access to all his accounts but I can't "remove" this device (to readd it later) when I login via PC to his account that it was synced with.
This all started on Friday, I read somewhere about 72 hours, it's now Tuesday and I still can't get into the account when signing in on the tablet.

Anyone got knowledge with this as I want to sort him out ASAP.

If I go into Google, My Account, Recent Security Events, I see the device, I even see his cellphone - I click his cellphone and I can see "remove" option but when I check the Lenovo TB2-X30L - there is no "remove" option...

I've even signed in his account onto my cellphone, gone into the account page on the cellphone and there is an option to remove my phone's acess (which I just added) but I can't even remove the tablet which was added long ago.

If there is any decent unofficial firmware available for the TB2-X30L I'd be looking to flash it with that instead of the factory firmware. Best place to start down that path is https://forum.xda-developers.com

The problem here is the unit is not my own item, I'd be too concerned to do this.

Unless directed to an EXACTLY correct firmware, then I'd give it a go.

I finally managed to find firmware (TB2-X30L_S000118_160831_ROW_SD) for the device and flashed it (by putting the firmware on a micro SD card) - I think did the delete cache and wipe - when it boots up. BAM! Back to same old.

I'm honestly stumped now...
