Got a call from a misterious number...

So I got a call from a mysterious number and I decided not to pick it up. The number has 8 digits which is strange to me. I decided not to take the call because of scams I've read about over the years. Scams that involve being called by a number and then being charged R100 a minute or something of that sort. I won't give out the full number in case it's a legitimate number and in case I'm wrong and overreacting. The number starts with +83#####. Are 8 digit numbers normal or am I just being paranoid?

Nah... probably just a marketing company, they are able to set what their PABX systems shows as the caller ID and most of the time they intentionally leave the numbers out so that you cannot call them back and swear at them.

People calling you cannot charge you for the call either.
