I got my Galaxy S3 32GB white today.

Here are some of my thoughgs in the first 2 hours:
1. damn the screen is pretty
2. damn its fast
3. where do I disable this damn bubble sound, I am getting seasick.
4. goodbye standard widgets and shortcuts. except you weather/clock widget, you can stay.
5. Hurray, the exchange email supports HTML rendering
6. why no USB hard drive mode :(.
7. comparing with old HTC Desire... S3 is thinner, lighter, bigger battery, bigger screen, all good then.
8. excellent samsung did not partition the storage like HTC does. sorry HTC, the dumbest thing you ever did was limit the application space to 160mb (50mb usable) for apps.
9. 1000mah charger. I better take this one to the office for fast charging there. My non Samsung chargers will only charge at 600mah. Will use that one for overnight.
10. need moar HD live wallpapers. need to ensure jealousy induced clenching of teeth at the office tomorrow. will go to black background after a few months.

feel free to ask me any questions, or have any ideas what I should try with it.

Congratulations on your new S3, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I've had mine for a week now, came from a S2. Whenever I use my S2 the screen looks so puny. :p

I'm still contemplating on whether to root my phone or not. I'm very happy with the stock rom so I'll probably stick with it for now.

I'm still on a learning curve with my Galaxy S. But I like it a lot. There are times when it would vex me with some arb application running the battery flat...

Definitely looking to get the Galaxy S3 as my next phone...

Desire was as good as the iphone 3GS that came out the same time.

but My HTC desire today is far more flexible (with android 4.0) than the now abandoned iphone 3GS.

I did a benchmark against a friends Ipad3. If I disable my flash, My Galaxy S3 renders the myboardband news page about 30% quicker than his iPad3. If I enable flash, it takes about the same time.

Shows you why Apple has done away with Flash!

EDIT: btw, the 3GS came out about half a year before the Desire.

Nice. I have the HTC Desire as well and my contract ends 26 June. No prizes for guessing what is next :D
Pitty about the white iPhone colour though :p

Tell that to the iSheep.

I went from the iphone 4 to the S3 and I'm loving it. Each OS has its perks. I've never had to restart my iphone and within the first week my S3 had to be restarted. Never got spam from app store, must have downloaded some dodgy software and received spam. ios has great multitasking feature which andriod is lacking.

Not good to hear the phone had to be rebooted - definitely a negative to be monitored. Please let us know if it reoccurs regularly.

Regarding spam from the app store - I have never received an unsolicited email from googles market. I would be careful with my email address and dodgy apps. Plenty dodgy apps out there.

Regarding multitasking - i think you not using the S3 properly or maybe let us know what you could do on iOS in terms of multitasking thats lacking on the S3.

The reboot only happened once so far. I think it was one (cant recall the name) of those apps that replaces the touchwiz fucntionality. It made my phone very slow so I uinstalled it.

The spam was due to Jewel quest, its not email but it gives this star notifications that you've "won" something.

With the iphone switching between your email, web browser and any other app was seemless. But when I'm busy with an email and want to quickly do something else like google a fact. It creates a draft, so you are not always back where you were when you started. The webbrowser also reloads everytime rather than just keeping the content.

I do think I need to learn a lot about andriod still. Didnt see a tips and tricks thread here...can anybody point me to something like that?
