anybody have a intel quad-core ?
how does it run ?
:D

fast in rendering applications like maya ;)

Uhm I'm also pondering what to get.

Faster E6850 or slower but more future proof quad core.

I'll be using it mostly for gaming and converting of Pron.

Get the Quad guys... trust me it's worth the investment, awesome power.

careful quad pron might be to hot to handle...

:D hav'ent even gone to daul core! but for 2.5k it is worth it :) for a Q6600!

running on vista must be awesome
i wonder about how it will run on xp ?

I got a Core 2 Duo E6420 overclocked to 3.2 Ghz.
Gonna get the Qaud Core 2.4Ghz and Overclock it to 4Ghz :)

*ponder* converting it to what?

i wonder when amd is going to throw there magic trick
like 50x core lol

Straffe

Got a Q6600 about a month ago, "upgraded" from E6600

running @ 3ghz, was running E6600 @3.2ghz

overall a bit snappier, i laak it, but if you're not rendering,
rather get a e6850 for the same price

How much is a nice quad core guys?
/me needs for video rendering in After Effects. Is it good that kind of stuff?

If the program was designed without multiple threads, then the other cores will be used by the background applications and windows. All the newish software is designed with multiple cores in mind.
