Hi All,

I am having problems setting up GPRS on my Pocket PC. I have the QTEK 2020i (similar to an iMate). I went to the VodaShop and the people were very helpful in setting up the connection, but when I try to connect I keep getting the message "The answering modem has disconnected."...

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thanks.

what number are you dialing up to?
*99# and *99***1# are the default numbers to use...... just an idea

V3G's answer would most probably be something like:

Have you tried 082 155?

I found these people most competent, professional and pleasant to deal with. I also got the feel that is was not a career killer to admit that "I don't know, may I find out and call you back" in the Vodacom support centre.

Are you trying to use your PPC as a modem or do you want to connect directly from the device to do browsing, mail, etc. on the PPC.

The GPRS settings is quite easy to configure, MMS slight more elaborate.

If you want, you can PM with a contact number and I'll give you the settings on my i-mate.

Easy to configure?!

I am just trying to connect my PPC to the Internet. No PC involved. The settings were easy to configure but I am still getting that error message. Is there maybe some configuration setting that I am missing?
