Hi,

I noticed something on my phone (imate K-Jam) that when GPRS is connected and I receive a call or initiate a call GPRS momentarily drops? Is this normal behavior?

The strange thing is that as I am speaking it re-connects to GPRS (Or so the phone says) … is particularly annoying when using MSN or ICQ as it drops your connection every time the phone rings.

Some have said that this is normal, if so - is there a technical reason for this - is Data not separated from Voice (Like ADSL running on dif frequencies?)

Just curious...

dropped calls

gprs travels in packets between the voice call channels and meets up at the end, so one does drop when the other takes effect, that is why they advise you to call from another line if you are setting up a manual connection ;)

Ahhh ... okay ... is it then possible to make a gprs connection using line 1 and use line 2 for voice?

Assuming I understand the multi line thing correctly ... when someone phones you while you are on another call, you are able to toggle between the 2 calls - putting one on hold... can the one be used primarilty for data?
