All Over...
I believe in KZN there are some issues in regarding connection via GPRS, G3 in KZN...My mate who has the EXACT same phone and model as myself ( Nokia 6120C ) could connect with his number starting with 073...Mine with 083 could do nothing except phone calls. I first thought it could be my sim, but then i heard the "tune" of MTN playing at their switch board saying KZN has probs regarding GPRS...Could it be a certain "range" of cell no's?

there is indeed a GPRS connection issue in the KZN area. last i heard it started thursday of last week and that the support staff are looking into the problem. got a friend using a 073 number who can't connect and i have and 083 and i can connect. not a number range issue i think, could be something else, but i have faith that MTN will be back and running in no time, once they find the underlying issue. as with all troubleshooting it takes time. so hang in there.

Thank G ...then i'm not insane.....
***** thing is, it just happened after i upgraded my firmware and realy thought I screwed up....lol

Just spoke to a MTN guy...He recon that at 12h00 tonight they are going to re-boot some towers in KZN and hopefully the prob will be sorted out by 05H00 tomorrow morning the 9th July

yea, its not working for my gf either, last few days, no gprs no 3g no nothing

Hi
As mentioned above, there has been issues in KZN,there will be a restart planned tonight and it will resolve the issue by morning. If there are still issues pls let me know.
Regards

well my GF's will still not work, funny thing is insert a different mtn sim in and it works, now how does that work, cause she was using gprs on her cell for the last year

aaa well...Stil the same...no connection. Tomorrow it will be exactly 1 WEEK down :(
Seems like a certain "range" of no's got affected...Mine starts with 083-XXXXXXX

you could throw the modem across the room screaming... i've never seen the modem go that fast... or call 1555 and get an update... seriuosly though, get them to terminate your number on the network, clear your cache, cookies, temp internet files and try again...

It's def MTN themself...even the answering machine apologizes for the failure.
Hope there is someone capable of fixing this though, as this rate at which we are moving is getting WAAAY out of control...BACKWARDS!

Hi,i stay in durban and use E220,my internet disconnected at 5am this morning,i hav been able to connect since but no data recieves.

I tried loading new WAP settings by deleting my old one...guess what...after entering *123# and following the instructions, MTN could not even SEND me the settings...:(

Can this be? I mean, that is takes them 1week ( so far ) and they ( mtn ) can't get the problem fixed?:eek:

22:00 Just spoken to MTN...Seems they have NO CLUE to the problem...can you believe...

...i rest my case
