GPRS Settings

Phone vodacom and ask them to SMS the configs to your phone... or if you are using bluetooth/irda/serial, then tell your PC to do a PPP connect to *99***1# with no username and password. (with with my Sony Ericsson on Bluetooth)

Hi oober

For which handset are you trying to get the GPRS settings.

:rolleyes:
Much easier to just type *111# and send on your phone, and select the option GPRS settings to get them 2 send OTA 2 your handset. Works on most phones, if not, go 2 yr nearest Vodashop or dial 111 or 1082 (probably quicker 2 PM 3GTurtle - he's the wizzard!!!):cool: :cool: :cool:

I recently had the same problem. On my Nokia the settings sent to me was not working properly. Under “Connection Settings” there are three options. Option 1 is "Access Points", 2 is "GPRS" and 3 is "Data call". Make sure that in option 1 and option 2 the "Access point name" is "internet" and not "Internet.GPRS".

Can anyone plz give me the GPRS settings for vodacom?
I have tried the www.vodacom4me.co.za site but the settings it sends me are not working.

This works for me, although it seems as though they're having a problem with their DNS server today:

if you want to browse using your phone:
gateway ip = 196.041.143.033
port = 9201

if you want to use the phone as modem:

In the modem initialisation string field enter at+cgdcont=1,”ip”,”internet”
In the telephone number field use *99***1#
