Hi

I have a MSI Raedon RX580 8GB, and running a 650w PSU.

As soon as I plug in power to the GPU, the pc does not boot. Every component in my PC build is new aside from the GPU.
And when I remove the power to the GPU, pc boots.

The GPU used to work but I think I messed something up when I removed it from my older pc.

Is there a place that assesses electronics and could fix it? Funds are low to buy a new GPU :-(

That depends. What do you think you messed up when removing it from the old PC?

One of the 8-pin molex wires did come lose and might have touched the GPU. But nothing tripped.

Is it worth buying a higher watt PSU or should I just come to terms with the fact that the GPU is long gone?

Was the PC on when you took out the GPU?
Cause that's the only way that might cause an issue.

There are no exposed contacts on those connectors so I doubt that's the cause.

Have you tried putting the gpu back in you old pc or some other one?

No exposed.

Tried it with a friend's pc, still. Though when I did take it to Matrixwarehouse, they connected it directly to another PSU and it didn't turn on.

hey man thats short on the card, basically worthless. Cant really be fixed.

Happens randomly can even happen newer cards but more prone older cards gets

Damnit.

Thought it could have been the PSU watts but plugging the RAM and case fans do nothing.
My Ryzen 5600x doesn't have an integrated GPU so I need a GPU.

Before working on a pc make sure you discharge the psu even with the power unplugged.

Actually, it should be plugged in the wall and the PSU but with the plug turned off at the wall then the PC is grounded.
