GPU market update

Hahahaha they can go fck themselves.

I would have been interested if it was half the price of the full card. Since I can sell the full card.

Agree, and CataclysmZA is correct that at that price it is entirely pointless.

I predict a ton of new 'for purpose' hardware hitting us soon.

How long do you think these miners have in them, til ETH goes POS ? This happened in 2013 or thereabouts and then i picked up some R280x's for next to nothing shortly after it crashed.

The amount of "Mining Rigs" i have seen go up lately i don't think its going as well as it always seems.

You're going to have to wait longer than POS on ETH.

Just pulled the trigger on a 1050ti at amazon. Was hoping for a 1060, but there's none available at a realistic price. Now for the 3 week wait (I was too cheap to pay for express shipping)

Proof of Stake at this point is 2019 or beyond, and it doesn't have a public implementation or even a alpha version for testing yet. The next version of Ether is a mixture of PoW and PoS, as I understand it currently, but even the difficulty bump coming this year won't necessarily impact mining operations that much. At this point, Bitcoin is so valuable that almost any GPU-mined Altcoin will surge in popularity if ETH becomes unfeasible in the next year.

Also, Hawaii and Grenada will continue to just plod on without batting an eye.

1050ti's.... Klaar... Got Wootware's last one(quite literally), couldn't find stock anywhere else.

Wow, that's lucky! I know there's RX 560 4GB stock in the country, but it might never reach the public. RX 460 4GB cards are also out there, but dropping fast.

Not really luck, lots of grovelling and someone cancelled an order for a Galax, it's white though...

It's going pretty damn well here.

It would almost make sense that the Nvidia and AMD do there best to keep the BTC price up though. Not sure what gamers are going to do with regards to actually ever being able to get a GFX card though.

How would they do that exactly?

Agree - quite the opposite. Mining will keep the GPU manufacturers very nicely in the black. I predict affordable consumer level 'plug and play' miners included in your electrical DB one day lol.

There's stock of the 1030 locally. Not bad at R1199. Too bad it doesn't come in a 4gb variant.

Need to build a complete R15k budget gaming rig and no gpu's around.

To top it off, it has to be new (i.e. no secondhand / Carbonite).

Sad panda is sad
