As the heading says, currently I have a GT640, but I'm looking to upgrade to something better, AMD or Nvidia is fine. I have around a R1300 budget. I have looked at

Sapphire HD7730, HD7730, 1GB 128bit 4 channel DDR5 and also
MSI R7-250, 1Gb 128bit 4 channel GDDR5,

I do not know though is this 1GB GDDR5 cards would be better then say a 4GB DDR3 card, so I need some advice.

A 1GB DDR5 card, will indeed give better performance than a 4GB DDR3 card.

For R1300:

But really try get a little more:

R1469:

or:
R1599:

To game, or not to game? That is the question.

If you're a gamer, I would advise saving up a bit more. You will see a bigger performance increase, and the card will lost you longer.

I would recommend this (As Chevron has): http://www.wootware.co.za/powercolo...rd-includes-2-free-games-amd-silver-tier.html

R7 250X, but if you can add that extra R300 get the R7 260X. The performance increase will be noted.
