at UWC part time. lol I know that feeling, congrats that you made it through.

You can still apply for Honours, even If you scraped through. I'm kinda scared of this thesis thing...Get the job and do your honours through the company that you are going to be working for.

It's too late for graduate programmes in the banking industry. But I think internship positions will open sometime in the next couple of months then I will notify you.

This. It's never too late do do your hons. Might not count that much for entry level positions but later on in life in management and more senior positions, from what I have heard it comes in very handy. Plus an Inf degree is 3 years, so with hons you have 4 and it's internationally recognised.

Like CamiKaze said, try and get the company you end up working for to pay for it will save you a couple of bucks! :D

If you want to be certified properly as a BA you go for CBAP, also through IIBA. This cert has some hefty requirements:

Minimum 7500 hours of BA work experience aligned with the BABOK® Guide in the last 10 years
Minimum 900 hours in each of four of the six knowledge areas
Minimum 21 hours of Professional Development in the past four years
Two references from a career manager, client or CBAP® recipient
Signed Code of Conduct

I think it works out to roughly around 4 years of BA experience. So def something to look at for someone who has the experience.

Applications for honours in informatics at tuks closed in like Aug/Sept. Otherwise I would have done it
 
hey josh_lister, where did u get your degree? I just finished B.IT at tuks and Informatics was a great part of our degree, so it would be interesting to know what career doors does it open in the business world.

I also got mine at tuks. Did you do the INF 370 project? I think it opens up a lot of opportunities, like business analysis, which is a good one. And if you did B.IT then why not look at development

Yup I did it last year though, we only won best expedition though. I mostly took INF subjects in my fourth year. But yeah, that is why I am asking if INF opens up to more opportunities than COS, then I'll decide which branch to go into. Not sure which one pays more, I enjoy both fields.

Oh ok nice. I think you could decide to do either. There's BA, which is more informatics, then system analysis, which involves some developing I think.

I think they pay roughly the same at first. Maybe a bit more for development. And from what I've seen there are more development jobs out there. Not for me though, I'm a rubbish coder!
 
So you didn't find a job yet? haha im sure u can improve in coding if you wanted to. Are you more into BA stuff like documentation?

I'm going for interviews and stuff at the moment, so I should have one soon. Haha that's the thing, I don't want to.. Yeah that's what I'm looking for. Quite a few opportunities for it I think
