Grant Sacked

For a team like Chelsea not to win anything - that's very unacceptable.
The question is, if Grant was granted the Chelsea team, would he win anything? I'm not too sure!

I'm not surprised by this at all. Could see it coming a mile away. He was nothing more than a step-in coach until they found a "genuine" one.

heita dont u think its a bit unfair to a judge a man who didnt have a team for a whole season

got to the job when they where 5 points behind arsenal, he lost alot of stars to african cup of nations

anyways it does not matter he is gone after not been given a full season and using another man's players and not having brought in nearly as many of his own

Going to say something that will make a few Chelski fans angry, but hey I am only speaking my mind and I believe my feelings about Chelsea are echoed amongs most fans of soccer living in England. Chelsea was bought bu an ubba rich Ruski, who built a glamour club and will spend whatever it takes to win. In earlier years Chelsea were just an ordinary middle of the road club. All this money and glamour has attracted a new type of pseudo soccer fan. Most of the Chelsea fans attending games are from the wealthier classes and have only been supporting the club for a few years. If the money and glamour goes, so will they. For most fans the club is in their blood. they are almost born into the club and will support regardless.

My feeling on Avrom Grant is that he is a good coach but did not suit the yuppy glamour role of being the coach of Chelski. It has nothing to do with coaching talent, more around the image of the coach and club. His replacement will be one of the young glamour brigade.

The man wouldnt be able to compete with JM he doesnt even know what a substitution is so that is a moot point. I think Grant did a bad job - but hey thats my opinion I expect some silverware if you make it to 4 finals - yet he cannot win one - chalk him up on my list of forgetable managers - no impact for me whatsover.

yes jsheed your comparing JM who has a few full seasons in charge

avram didnt even get a full season and had to clean up JM's mess

its a bit hard to win the league when you start off with a team in trouble and 5 points behind arsenal and your first game incharge is against man united which u lose and go 8 points behind arsenal

its also a little hard to win a trophy when john terry tries to be a hero instead of sending essien to take the kick

go look up wiki jsheed and you'll notice avram never had a full season in charge of chelsea, he cleaned up JM's mess very well though and got chelsea to a champions league final which john terry threw away

you cannot argue and tell me grant never did a good job

hauling an 8 point deficit and getting further than JM in champs league :)

we all know he got a crap deal, we also all know he would be better than jm GIVEN A FULL SEASON

I bleed blue through good and bad so fsck the yuppie brigade.

Bollocks man. I agree with certain points. Same thing happened to United when they won the treble. The bandwagon brigade hopped on.

Chelsea were always a great club. They won the UEFA cup and the European super cup, not to mention the FA cup as well. All before Roman came to the club.

People only notice them now, cos they are a threat! They were never an average club. They had some brilliant football players in the team as well before the money came.

I believe that Man United have been dominating since the early 90's, so the notion of bandwagon supporters are false. United were always a great team and that is evident today.

Since United started winning consistantly. Supporters started coming from every corner. I dont see what is different to Chelsea badnwagon supporters.

I partially agree. I think there are more Chelsea bandwagon supporters cos since the Billionaire took over, they started buying big, big players and started winning trophies and they appeared to be unbeatable for a long, long time. Sure there will always be bandwagon supporters but I'm sure as hell not one of them. We might even see more Man Utd bandwagon supporters now, since United won the double, but that's natural for those who are not that into football.

snap so your saying most of us support them for the treble win?

u realize that united where a massive club long before then?

go do what jsheed loves to do and wiki united and you will find they dominate english football since the start of the new premier league

so bandwagon supporters would have jumped on the wagon around 92-93
