Hey guys what is the best GPU under R3000, many are recomanding the MSI GTX 460 Cyclone(1GB Over Clocked)R2600 Prophecy.

All the prices below are from Prophecy Shop, so you might get it cheaper elsewhere, but then shipping costs would come into play...

The MSI GTX 460 Cyclone OC 1GB now costs R2507.
The other cards I would recommend are the Club3D HD 5850 for R2760 (not yet on Prophecy's price list)
and the Gigabyte GTX 460 OC 1GB for like R2660

This & probably next week would most likely be the worst time to buy a graphics card in this range, due to the releasing of the AMD HD 6870 and 6850 cards.

The GTX460 1GB seems to be getting good reviews. Dunno how it compares to ATI offerings though, probably 5850 in that price range.

That everyone you are talking about is spot on mate! It does compare to the 5850 as ponder suggested but take into account the 460's are a overclockers wet dream. pushed to 900mhz core and 4000mhz memory, it even tops the 5870. I have two myself. Can't go wrong!

when are the new 6000 series been released.

The 68xx series would be released 22 Oct, but don't expect it to be available in SA this Friday or cheap prices (like $250 directly converted to ZAR).

Well, if you wanted a graphics card under R3000, first you'll need R3000, then you place the money on top of a graphics card (really, I'll give you the freedom to chose), and there you go, problem solved.

depend on the price change for ATI i would go for the evga GTX 460 FTW 1024MB EE. http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=01G-P3-1378-TR&family=GeForce 400 Series Family&sw= . goes for about 2600
I'd say that you're better off with a MSI GTX 460 Cyclone OC 1GB or Gigabyte GTX 460 OC 1GB and then just overclock it to the same speeds as that EVGA card, because both those cards are quieter and have better heatsinks and fans.
The only advantages about that card is that you don't have to do any overclocking AND that its blowing the hot air out of the case and not into the case like the other cards.
Also: I haven't seen the FTW model at any SA online shop yet! You can find the normal EVGA GTX 460 Superclocked 1GB EE for around R2400.
