Im looking for a new card pref nvidia to replace my 7900gt, there is nothing wrong with my card when it comes too running games, but it overheats way too quickly.
Should I spend just over R2k on a new card? Or is there something I can do to the 7900gt to stop it from overheating?
What card would u guys recommend R2000-R2500 range?
THANKS

For R2000 get an Ati 4850. I know you prefer nVidia but the Ati is the best value for money in that price range.

Or you can have my 8800GTS for R1000 and spend the rest of the cash on games;)

In that price range there's NOTHING that beats the 4850. Just go out and get it already. Don't worry about anything else.

LOL no worries, I'm not getting into any arguements.
Blah asked for advise and I was just trying to offer an unbiased opinion :p

I don't agree with that:

You can see that the 9800gtx+ performs either on par or better (most of the time) than the 4850

The 9800gtx+ is R2340 at Prophecy:

From your review website: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/731/5/

The 9800gtx+ gets trashed by the HD4850 on that particular review.

At PCInt you can get a HD4850 for R1936.86. Thats a saving of over R400 for a better card and it gives the original poster an answer to his question :) The poster did not ask for a GFX card at +-R2340, but at +-R2000

True :p But overall the HD4850 is still a better card for less money :D

thought i'd come back to few responses..
so its a toss up between HD4850 and 9800gtx?
please point me in the right direction for good price online.
and lastly could my 350W power supply run one of these bad boys with 3 harddrives going aswell?
thanks alot :)
