thought i'd come back to few responses..
so its a toss up between HD4850 and 9800gtx?
please point me in the right direction for good price online.
and lastly could my 350W power supply run one of these bad boys with 3 harddrives going aswell?

I would say no, u need a new psu.
I am running my 3850 on a 300w, its only 1k apparently now if u dont wanna upgrade ur psu

I would say... give me the specs of your PC. Although, an older 350W PSU would be cutting the line a bit fine... How old is your PSU?

The 9800gtx+ gets trashed by the HD4850 on that particular review.
At PCInt you can get a HD4850 for R1936.86. Thats a saving of over R400 for a better card and it gives the original poster an answer to his question
I got my Saphire HD4850 from them about a month ago for 1988.86(Delivery inc.)
I have not had a single complaint since I got it. Downright an extremely good card for the price, I definitely recommend it.

You can get the HD4850 IceQ Turbo version for R2149, or the TurboX version for R2299, or standard IceQ for R1999. These are all better variants of the 4850 as they are much cooler, and the turbo versions are overclocked.

It Depends on the brand. If its a "lets hope it doen't blow" 350W, you are in trouble, if its a quality brand, like Antec, Enermax, Coolermaster, then you are probably ok with the ATI, not the Nvidia.
Best bang for Buck PSU right now is the Corsair VX450W (600 bucks or so)
So for the price of a 9800GTX+, you can amost buy the 4850 and the PSU.

I would recommend the HIS IceQ's anyday...those coolers look great and does the job well.
It'll be cool enough to overclock and beat the GTX+

I agree. Some no-name brand PSU's can be very unstable & noisy too
Should be, MSI has the habbit of giving all their product a strange name...

ok, well, you could also consider the hd4670 as well, it will offer a massive leap from you current card, requires very little power, and generates little heat, so it seems like a good deal... but maybe wait a short while, Nvidia are going to release new cards (the gtx270) which might impact all the current card prices....
