Hi Guys

I current have a pc with the following specs:

Intel dh55tc motherboard
Intel Core i3 530 (Clarkdale) cpu
4gb DDR3 Ram
nvidea g210 graphics card
psu rated 350w peak 400w

Recently the graphics card started acting up and i am thinking of purchasing a new graphics card. I researched a few graphics cards that can work with my current psu and i am currently thinking of replacing my current gpu with a nvidea gt640 graphics card. I prefer nvidea graphics cards.

Should i replace it with the gt640 or should i upgrade my psu (Corsair GS600 / GIGABYTE GREENMAX PLUS Series 650W) as well so that i can select a higher graphics card(GeForce GTX 650 /Ti)

I have no experience in changing a pc's psu and would the above components work with my motherboard?

What games do you play? What is your budget?

A more powerful card will allow you to play newer games, but do you play recent games?

Upgrade your PSU then get a GTX650 card. That's if you want to play latest games on your PC.

My budget is around R2500 including a psu. The games i am currently playing are Tomb raider 2013 and skyrim

Get that PSU mentioned above and get this graphics card

You will get Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for free.

Then you just need to buy Skyrim.

EDIT: Oh, you already own Tomb Raider. Well, you can sell it or give it to a friend. You still get the other two games free. Just a note, they will email the codes/CD keys for the games to you, and you then need to download them yourself. So dont expect DVDs in the graphics card box.

How much amps does your psu have on 12V rail?

And whats the make?

The make is Delta Electronics Model No: GE-C400N-C1

I am not sure about the amps on the 12v rail as it says

+12V1 14A (Max)
+12V2 16A (Max)

Total combined current on +12V1 and +12V2 rails are 19A max

Hmmm better to get another psu if you wanna get a 7850, or if you wanna settle for a 7790 or lower, it should run alright

How old's ur psu?
